Chapter 1354

---

“Opposite the front door on the first floor, there’s a line of elaborate decorations,” Bryson explained, his recollection remarkably precise. “Many of the designs are inspired by ancient European artisans. However, this mask stands out from the rest-it doesn’t seem to fit with the European aesthetic. I remember it distinctly.”
“No wonder it seemed familiar!” she exclaimed, her earlier casual dismissal now replaced by a sense of urgency.
“I saw it before when I first arrived, but it didn’t strike me as important at the time. I’ll go downstairs and confirm it.”
As she ended her sentence, the sounds of movement could be heard from her end of the phone. “I’m going to check it out now,” she declared.
Hannah quickly rushed downstairs, but despite her focus on the decorations, the mysterious mask had disappeared without a trace.
As she puzzled over the mask’s disappearance, her brows knitted together in consternation.
Just then, a voice spoke from behind her, startling her slightly.
“What are you looking for?”
Hannah spun around, spotting Remington behind her. “You’re still hanging around.”
Remington strolled up, peering where Hannah had been. “What went down here?”
“What filled this blank space before?”
Tracking her point, Remington saw a hole among the decor.

It was obvious something had sat there but now was gone.
Remington frowned. “I can’t recall. The staff handle the setup. I don’t keep tabs.”
Hannah eyed the living room, pointing at a hidden camera. “That camera’s still rolling, yeah? Shouldn’t it be able to show when the item was taken?”
Remington glanced at the camera, puzzling at Hannah. “What’s the big deal about finding this out?”
“Because the thief here’s the same one who whacked the Delgado heir. Aren’t you curious?” Hannah pressed.
Locking eyes, Remington relented. “Fine, tag along.”
They slipped into the surveillance room. Hannah spotted screens everywhere. “So, you’re watching everyone, huh?”
Remington smirked, unruffled. “Didn’t you disable a camera when you moved in?”
“What if I hadn’t discovered it? Could I sue you for spying?” Hannah smirked back and then focused on the monitors.
“Pull up the Lobby cam’s last two days and zoom in on the decor area.”
Hannah spoke directly.
The surveillance operator glanced at Remington, waiting for the nod.
